Importance of Process Checklists

Like most people, you probably have a morning routine that you follow every day, often without thought, to start your day. But when something breaks your routine, you can forget to do something as basic as brushing your teeth. It's a great example why we need easy to reference process checklists to ensure all the key tasks get done.

Now, for your morning routine, I’m not suggesting you follow a morning process map or checklist (although someone out there probably does). However, for your business processes, you absolutely need to have easy to use supporting process artifacts.
This will ensure that when things don't go according to plan, and at some point it will certainly get chaotic, that your team, regardless of their experience, is actively referencing a tool to ensure that all the key tasks that need to get done, actually get done.
That's my 8020 Framework. What's yours?
